Zaffarano Plays Pivotal Role in 2012 Wish Ball
One of America’s most exciting and effective auctioneers will join a star-studded lineup at Make-A-Wish® Illinois’ signature fundraiser, Wish Ball, set for Saturday evening, May 12 at the UIC Forum.
Vinnie Zaffarano and his all-star team from Zaffarano Auctioneers will lead the event’s all-important charity auction—featuring unique and coveted items like exclusive gourmet dining with celebrities, whirlwind trips to New York City, golfing in Hawaii, valuable Chicago sports VIP tickets and memorabilia and much more.
“Their confidence in Zaffarano Auctioneers is well placed; and we will come through, as we always do, to deliver an auction that is fun, exciting and most important, maximizes the amount of funds raised—helping enable Make-A-Wish® Illinois to continue the wonderful work it does every year for so many people.”
Wish Ball will feature actor and comedian David Spade as its special guest entertainer; and the event will be emceed by Billy Bush, anchor of Access Hollywood and Access Hollywood Live.
The annual black tie gala helps generate revenue to support wishes granted to Illinois children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. This magical night includes cocktails, dinner, dancing, a raffle, and live and silent auctions.
Tickets are $500 per person or $5,000 per table of ten. Premium tables can be reserved for $10,000. Tickets are available online or by calling 312.602.WISH (9474).
Guests at the event will also hear moving remarks from a local wish family and have the opportunity to meet a few children who will serve as Wish Ambassadors for the evening.
Additionally, this year’s Leader in Joy Award will be presented to the one person or group who has helped the chapter to grow and is committed to helping Make-a-Wish® reach even more children in the future.
Spade is currently starring in the television series Rules of Engagement and has appeared in several television comedies and movies as well as appearing as a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live for 10 years.
Last year, Make-A-Wish® Illinois granted 766 wishes across the state and plans to grant even more this year. Wishes are granted to children with life-threatening medical conditions, such as cancer, heart conditions, muscular dystrophy, renal disease and many more. Wishes can be an important part of the treatment process, empowering children to make decisions and providing strength to comply with medical treatments.
